The New York Knicks’ 2021-22 City Edition Uniform was revealed and it is a clean and crisp look for the franchise.

In what is the NBA’s 75th season, the New York Knicks’ uniform pays homage to the past of the franchise, which includes past players and Madison Square Garden. And as you can see in the tweet below, the uniform is mainly black with orange and blue accents.

Now moving down to the shorts, the waistband sports the numbers of the retired Knicks to honor the many men that have contributed to the history of the league. And when you look further down the shorts, there is a silhouette of Madison Square Garden on both legs with a checkered pattern underneath that runs up the sides.

The purpose of placing MSG on the shorts is due to the fact that the Knicks and MSG are synonymous with one another. On top of that, it may be a tribute to the world’s most famous arena for hosting many dramatic moments in basketball history on all levels.

Now last, but certainly not least, the jersey and shorts don the Nike logo which overlaps the letters NYC to acknowledge New York City’s urban streetwear culture.

The Knicks decided to launch the kit with a video narrated by Knicks Legend Allan Houston and staring New York native and starting point guard Kemba Walker.

Kith Founder Ronnie Feig designed the uniforms — the same person who designed last season’s City Edition jerseys — but his work of art won’t be for sale until November 15th, 2021. Furthermore, the Knicks won’t debut their new jerseys until they play the Los Angeles Lakers on November 23rd, 2021.
