The Knicks will reportedly fill their final roster spot by signing John Henson to a 10-day contract, according to Steve Popper of Newsday.

New York remains thin at center with Mitchell Robinson sidelined after breaking his right foot against Milwaukee. The recent signings of Norvel Pelle and Henson will help New York fill the defensive void Robinson’s injury brings.

They took a chance at the trade deadline by holding off on any moves for a big man. With Robinson’s return now up in the air, the Knicks will look to fill the void his absence leaves collectively. Nerlens Noel has done a tremendous job of being a steady defensive anchor throughout the season, so he will undoubtedly remain the starter as long as he’s healthy.

Both Pelle and Henson are defensive role-players that may not move the needle significantly but will give the Knicks much-needed depth at the center position.

Henson played in 40 games total last season for both the Cleveland Cavaliers and Detroit Pistons. He averages 7.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocks on 54% from the field for his career.
