Knicks 2021-22 Standings predictions

The first item up for discussion was the recent NBA Eastern Conference 2021-22 standing predictions. ESPN released their yearly predictions for the East and they’re not as high on the Knicks as many of the fans. Last season ESPN predicted that the Knicks would only manage around 25 wins and gave them a miserable 2% chance at making the playoffs. Despite this, the Knicks had one of their best seasons this century and claimed the fourth seed in the East with a 41-31 record.

This time around ESPN are not counting the Knicks out. They predict a record of 44-38 which would lead them to the 7th seed in the East. This would leave the Knicks in the Play-In tournament as the highest seed. The guys weren’t insulted by this prediction but didn’t agree with it fully. CK doesn’t believe that the Knicks will end up in the Play-In tournament. He sees the Knicks closer to the Heat, Hawks and Celtics than they are to the Hornets, Bulls and Pacers.

He conceded that it will be a tough season as everyone in the East has gotten better. JD doubled down on his prediction that the Knicks will hit the 50 wins mark. JD points out that other teams may struggle to stay healthy as well. He believes that Embiid’s health remains a big question mark for the Sixers. He also thinks they may regress during the regular season if they trade Ben Simmons which would allow the Knicks to compete for the third seed.

Battle of the Fans!

The Battle of the Fans returns featuring Joel from Staten Island who went up against Jay from Florida. Joel challenged Jay on his “lucky” season narrative by asking how they could maintain the luck over 72 games. Jay argued that the fans had a part to play in the team’s success and that the players folded under the pressure in front of a crowd.

Jay called the Knicks 2020 season ‘Fools Gold” during the heated debate. He thinks the signings of Kemba Walker and Derrick Rose were not good enough to save the Point guard position. Joel brought up Rookie Miles McBride as a potential future point guard, but Jay isn’t buying that either! Other News!

In other news, Rookie Miles McBride has signed an endorsement deal with Nike. Former Knick Frank Ntilikina has signed with the Dallas Mavericks, making him the 5th former Knick on the Mavericks roster.

It was recently reported that Italian Club Virtus Bologna had an interest in signing the defensive specialist, but CP always maintained that Frank would eventually return to an NBA roster. Everyone is happy for Frank and wish him the best of luck in the future. Angel from Philly came through to close out the show and give his take on the battle of the fans.
