Sources tell KnicksFanTV that the New York Knicks have significant interest in trading for Minnesota shooting guard Malik Beasley. Beasley had a breakout second half of last season after being traded to the Timberwolves. He averaged 20.7 pts 5.1 rebs and 1.9 ast in his first 14 games with Minnesota. He also shot 42.6% from three during that stretch.

While Beasley currently has some off-the-court drama he is dealing with, he could be a building block in the Knicks’ current rebuilding efforts. His shooting is no fluke, and he showed during his stretch with Minnesota that he has star potential. Should the Knicks go all-in on trading for Beasley? Or should they be wary of signing him considering his drama off-the-court?

The Knicks are also reportedly interested in signing Gordon Hayward after he opted out of a $34 million dollar offer from the Boston Celtics, per Marc Stein.

According to Ian Begley of SNY, though, the Knicks’ pursuit of Hayward might have lost some steam after the draft.
