The New York Knicks will convert guard Jared Harper’s contract from a two-way deal to a 10-day contract.

Harper spent most of the season with the Westchester Knicks where he averaged 21.3 points, 6.9 assists and 2.9 rebounds in the G-league bubble through 12 games. His performance in the bubble earned him a spot on the All-NBA G League first team.

In the same press release, the Knicks announced they would be signing Myles Powell to the open two-way contract spot. The former Seton Hall guard also spent his season playing for the Westchester Knicks where he averaged 17.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 13 games. Powell was signed by the Knicks in November 2020 as an undrafted free agent but was later waived in December. Powell is not expected to remain with the team and it is believed that this is to reward one of the Westchester Knicks with extra compensation. The Knicks still have one open roster spot left.

The Knicks are also signing Simi Shittu to a 10-day contract per Ian Begley of SNY. The 6’10” Power Forward/Centre had previously played for the Westchester Knicks in the NBA G-League Bubble where he averaged 14.5 points and 10.1 rebounds. Shittu spent one year in Vanderbilt where he averaged 10.9 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 32 games.

Despite being born in London, Shittu was international teammates with RJ Barrett during the 2015 FIBA Americas Under-16 Championship where Team Canada took home the silver medal. In the same press release where they announced the signing of Shittu, the team has announced they have waived Myles Powell.
