Former New York Knick Baron Davis and Hip-Hop mogul Percy “Master P” Miller are in talks to buy Reebok for $2.4 Billion.

Adidas, the German parent company of Reebok, is looking to sell Reebok after they’ve struggled to keep up with the latest fashion trends in recent years.

As of right now, former Knick Baron Davis and Hip-Hop mogul Master P are the front runners to buy the company for $2.4 billion.

“I think Reebok is being undervalued,” Davis told Forbes. “I left Nike as a 22-year-old kid representing myself and made the jump to Reebok, which took a chance on me as a creative and as an athlete. I want the people I know – athletes, influencers, designers, celebs to sit at the table with me,” said Davis.

According to Forbes, the partnership between former NBA star Baron Davis and Hip-Hop artist Master P could be perfect for the shoe company that started the trend of signing rappers to shoe deals in the same way athletes do. Reebok famously signed Jay-Z to a shoe deal back in 2003.

“As we focus on turning Reebok into a lifestyle brand not just a basketball brand, our most important initiative will be to put money back into the community that built this company,” Master P said.

According to Yahoo news, this deal would make Reebok the first Black-owned major sneaker brand.

“We want this to be a community effort, that sets up the next generation of leaders for success,” said Vy Le, COO of Baron Davis Enterprises.
