The NBA has postponed this Saturday’s Knicks game against the San Antonio Spurs after four Spurs players test positive for the coronavirus.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski dropped the news this morning that each of San Antonio’s next three games will be postponed by the NBA. The players will remain in Charlotte and quarantine, where they’ve been since playing the Hornets on Sunday.
The Knicks are on a roll after beating each of their last three opponents by double digits. Julius Randle is proving he’s an All-Star, scorching the Hawks for 44 points and 7 threes last night.
The Knicks (14-15) currently sit as the 6th seed in the East with a manageable set of opponents coming up. With Saturday’s game against the Spurs now postponed, the Knicks are scheduled to play the Orlando Magic (10-18) on Feb. 15th at MSG and the Timberwolves (7-20) on Feb. 21st in Minnesota. They then head back to New York to play the Warriors in what is scheduled to be the return of 2,000 in-person fans to the Garden.
New York is making a strong playoff push right now led by Julius Randle, so there couldn’t be a better time to inject some life into the Mecca with real fans. Randle’s putting in work and deserves some love with the season he’s having. He should be a top contender for Most Improved Player by the end of the year if he keeps this up. He’s currently averaging 23.1 points, 11.0 rebounds and 5.6 assists on 40.6% shooting from three this season.
