After undergoing further testing, the New York Knicks have confirmed that Alec Burks will receive a walking boot for his sprained left ankle.
This is a big loss for the Knicks who were utilizing Burks heavily as a scorer and playmaker in the starting unit. He was averaging 20.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists on 66.7% shooting from three in his first three games as a Knick before the injury.
The Knicks also confirmed that Reggie Bullock (sore left knee) is questionable for tonight’s game vs. Utah.
Bullock has been hit-or-miss so far, lacking the consistency from beyond the arc that we’ve been hoping for to start the season. He’s currently shooting only 30.8% from three in his first seven games. Expect Kevin Knox and RJ Barrett to get extended minutes at the small forward position if Bullock is unavailable tonight against Utah.
Regardless of these injuries, the Knicks are on a roll right now because of players like Julius Randle, RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley. As long as those guys remain healthy, don’t expect the Knicks to back down from anybody.
