The Knicks have agreed to trade Ed Davis to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Omari Spellman, Jacob Evans and a future second round pick.
Spellman, 23, averaged 7.6 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists last season for the Golden State Warriors. He was later traded to the Timberwolves as part of the Andrew Wiggins deal.
Jacob Evans has played limited minutes his past two seasons in the NBA. He played in only 29 games last season for the Warriors and Timberwolves.
With this move, the Knicks have essentially received three 2nd round picks in the Ed Davis trade. For the first time in a while, the team seems to be making the most of their cap space. What will the next move be? The team has 16 players under contract and will need to reach 15 by the start of the season. Stay tuned!
