Knicks rookie Obi Toppin is officially a member of the Jordan Brand family after signing an endorsement deal with Jumpman.
“It’s truly a blessing for the Jordan Brand family to be taking me in as one of their own,” Toppin said on Friday. “MJ is the best player to ever live. To be part of the brand that the best player to ever live created is something I can’t even put into words.”
Jordan Brand president Craig Williams also released a statement about signing Toppin:
“The Jordan Brand is thrilled to welcome Obi to the family. Obi’s journey to the NBA reflects traits common to Jordan Brand – resilience, determination, and a commitment to greatness that inspires others. His talent on the court, strong character and desire to support the community are truly impressive.”
Toppin joins an exclusive list of NBA stars signed to Jumpman endorsement deals including Jayson Tatum and Zion Williamson.
He knows there’s an added pressure to perform as a Jordan athlete, but he’s ready to take on the challenge.
“I grew up watching a lot of players wear Jordan gear,” Toppin said. “Seeing the swag that comes with it made me step my game up. When I get on that court, I want to be one of the swaggiest guys out there, with the best feets.”
