The Westchester Knicks have signed former Kings first-round pick Skal Labissiere and former Celtics first-round pick James Young.
Labissiere averaged 5.8 pts, 5.1 reb and 1.3 ast in 33 games last year for the Portland Trailblazers.
Both players will sign Exhibit 10 deals – one-year, minimum salary contracts. The contracts can become two-way deals only before the regular season begins.
New York’s list of former Kentucky players just grew to seven with the addition of Labissiere and Young. It remains to be seen if Leon Rose’s method of hiring a bunch of former Kentucky players, paired with assistant coach Kenny Payne, is going to substantiate into anything valuable. Here’s a list of all the former Kentucky players currently on the Knicks roster:
- Kevin Knox
- Julius Randle
- Immanual Quickley
- Nerlens Noel
- Skal Labissiere
- Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
- James Young
